CoQ10

In my late 20's, I made the decision to get braces. Again. Just as I got the chickenpox twice (this was before I found out about DMG), it only seemed fair that I go through the childhood rite of passage of having metal awkwardly glued to my teeth a second time as well.

But having braces helped remind me of the importance of gum health. Now that I have invested a fair amount of money in my pearly whites, I have a stronger emotional attachment to keeping them in my mouth.

A very important component of oral health is keeping the gums healthy. Coenzyme Q10 is an enzyme that is found in high levels in gum and cardiac tissue. Interestingly enough, the elderly and people with gum problems have significantly lower levels of Coenzyme Q10 in their gums.

CoQ10 is found primarily in the mitochondria, which is the part of the cell that creates energy. Anywhere that your body needs energy, it also needs CoQ10 -- heart, kidneys, and brain, to name a few. And of course, those all-important fleshy bits that keep our teeth in place.

At Mountain Naturals, we have a variety of option to work that CoQ10 into your daily routine: Chew Melts, Sublingual Tablets, and SoftGel Capsules.

To keeping that Hollywood smile,
